I. THE WORD OF KNOWLEDGE

A. WHAT IT IS NOT
1. NOT NATURAL KNOWLEDGE - This gift is not education, which is the assimilation
of mere natural knowledge. This gift is not teaching, which is the conveyance of mere
natural knowledge. It is not psychology, or a science of the mind. All of these can be
performed by people who do not even have the Holy Spirit.
2. NOT FORTUNE TELLING - This gift cannot be fortune telling because God's word
condemns fortune telling as being of the devil. The devil counterfeits God's gifts and
would make fortune telling seem like the word of knowledge, but there is a difference.
If a fortune teller knows anything at all supernaturally, you can be sure that it is not the
supernatural Spirit of God that gives him that knowledge. The devil uses fortune tellers
to tell you something that will worry you and break up your home, break your heart,
break your finances, and mess up your future, but God, by the word of knowledge, is
generally trying to build His people up in these areas.
3. NOT THE GIFT OF ALL KNOWLEDGE - This gift is not the gift of knowledge,
but the gift of the WORD of knowledge given by the Holy Spirit. God does not give us
all of His knowledge, but just a word (part) occasionally; although, the part will be
changed into the whole during the perfect age (1 Cor 13:9-10) when we will know Him
even as we are known.
4. NOT THE ABILITY TO MAKE GOOD GUESSES - This gift is not making good
guesses, having a good imagination, or the working of the mind. It does not work through
one's mind any more than speaking with tongues does. God speaks to one's spirit by His
Spirit without the help of one's natural mind or ears. You simply know it, that's all.
5. NOT SIMPLY KNOWLEDGE ABOUT GOD - This gift is not a knowledge of God,
or of God's Word (although those are good and necessary things). Those come by
learning, hearing, studying, and experience. For instance, Eli, the priest had vast
knowledge of God and His Word through experience; but the child Samuel, who had
neither, was given a Word direct from the throne of God by the Holy Spirit. Eli had
come to the place where he had no open vision (1Sam 3:7, 11-14).
6. NOT A VOCAL GIFT - It is not a vocal gift, as it causes you to know things rather
than to speak things. If someone speaks the word of knowledge after the Lord has given
it to him, that part would come under a different category of ministry such as teaching,
exhorting, or preaching.
B. WHAT IT IS
1. DEFINITION - The spiritual gift of the WORD OF KNOWLEDGE is the bestowal
of certain facts from the mind of God which He sees fit to reveal to one of His servants
supernaturally by His Spirit. It is only a word, or a portion of God's endless storehouse
of knowledge.
2. METHODS - God speaks in divers manners, such as dreams, visions, revelation, or
sometimes even in an audible voice. It is always conveyed supernaturally as is any other
spiritual gift.
3. ABILITIES - This gift can tell the whereabouts, conditions, nature, or thoughts of a
person, animal, place, or thing even when it is impossible to learn it in the natural.
4. PURPOSES - It helps one to look into the heart, mind, or nature of a man and to
know his secrets and intentions. It has helped find lost articles, as in 2 Kings 6, but
its main purpose is to help find lost souls as in the book of Acts.
C. BIBLE EXAMPLES
1. SAMUEL We find examples of the word of knowledge throughout the O.T. In
1 Samuel 9 and 10 we see at least 2 dozen things that the Lord showed the prophet
SAMUEL through the word of knowledge. Samuel told Saul all that was in his heart.
He told him many things about himself. Samuel knew that Saul was hunting his asses;
that they had been lost three days; that they had already been found; that Saul's father
had left home worrying about him; that Saul had been chosen of the Lord to reign over
His people; that he should anoint Saul king; that Saul would save the people out of the
hands of the Philistines; the time of day that he was going to meet Saul; that Saul would
meet two men just after he left to go on his way; that the two men would speak to Saul;
that Saul would meet three men as he went up to Bethel; that one of the three men
would be carrying three kids; that he would meet them at Tabor; that one man would be
carrying three loaves of bread; that another would be carrying a bottle of wine; that they
would salute Saul; that they would give Saul two loaves of bread; that Saul would come
to the hill of God; that he would come to the city; that he would meet a company of
prophets; that these prophets would be carrying musical instruments (namely a psaltery,
tabret, pipe, and harp); that the company of prophets would prophesy; that the Spirit
of the Lord would come upon Saul; that Saul would prophesy with them; and that Saul
would be turned into another man. All of this was revealed to the prophet Samuel by
the WORD OF KNOWLEDGE.
2. ANANIAS - The gift of the WORD OF KNOWLEDGE is also found in the N.T.
In Acts 9:11-16 the Lord speaks to ANANIAS and tells him the name of a man; the
exact house where the man was staying; the name of the man who lived there; the name
of the street on which the house was located; the name of the town which Paul was from;
that Paul was there praying; that Paul was blind; that Ananias' name had already been
revealed to Paul; that Paul knew Ananias would lay hands on him, pray for him to be
healed of blindness, and pray for Paul to receive the Holy Spirit; that Paul (then named Saul)
was chosen by the Lord to suffer for the Lord; and that Paul was called to have a ministry
to the Gentiles. The Bible says that God spoke to Ananias, but the natural man is always
ready to discredit such reports. Our carnal side always tries to explain away such things as
an illusion or say such things are the work of the devil. The carnal mind is not subject to the
law of God. It is enmity against God (Rom 8:7). Nevertheless, when Ananias did what he
was told by the Lord, he found it all to be true.
3. PETER - In Acts 10:9-17, PETER receives a WORD OF KNOWLEDGE while he was
up on the house top praying. The Spirit of God showed him that three men were seeking
him; that the Lord had sent them; that God had granted salvation to the Gentiles; and that
all people were equal in God's sight. If Peter had gone to school all his life, he couldn't
have learned such knowledge from natural means. The all-knowing God gave this
knowledge to Peter and helped him get Cornelius household saved.

a word of knowledge about my womb from beloved Jesus:

a word of knowledge from beloved Jesus:  The Father Jesus had given the Church lady 'at the Brisbane Healing Rooms...
The Father Jesus had given the Church lady 'at the Brisbane Healing Rooms a word of knowledge' for me in May 2003. ( After my healing from type 1 diabetes and blindness). I think it's awesome that after praying a week and using gesticulation in my prayer to my Father Jesus about my sick womb, that he heard my prayers and told the Church elder lady at the Bne Healing Rooms, a 'word of knowledge' to tell me. My Father Jesus told her to tell me 'your womb and all its tendrils are healed'. I think about his beloved words everyday, and it strengthens my faith.

I was thinking about the figurative language my Dear Father Jesus uses in his spoken words. The word ' tendrils' are just like roots that are firmly fixed to the earth by their tendrils. O Tendril whose Bud shall not wilt! ..It is very beautiful language that my beloved Father Jesus used to tell the lady for me. Often the fruit of thy womb Jesus is used with reference to Mother Mary and baby Jesus.

Observe, the word ' tendril' that Our Father Jesus uses. Significantly, an analogy would be a tendril of a root of a vine or plant bound to the earth. Jesus is the life of the vine - His disciples the tendrils that will become fruitful branches, becoming ever more incorporated into the Vine.

In the discourse, as the psalm, The Father is the Gardener, and he prunes fruit-bearing branches, in order to make them MORE fruitful.

The "word of knowledge" verse by my Father Jesus to the Church Elder lady alludes figuratively to the uterus just like roots that are firmly fixed to the earth by their tendrils. ... While referring to the tendrils in the mother's womb, ...
`'and we must note that the Scriptures reflect that the word "Father" whose spiritual tendrils are still very active today throughout our world in ... that He constructed Himself, wove it together inside of Mary's womb to be .... many passages and stories in the Bible, including their inner sense'.....

And it is Love being felt and flowing within our inner selfhood that does several great things: it creates a warm, lush seedbed within our minds wherein the external truths of life and religion may take root and grow; it enables us to BE spiritually connected with the Lord God (like a branch on a vine), as opposed to being consciously separated from the Lord (like being at arms length with our Creator); and this is a major biggie too!, love that is moving and warming us from deep inside actually opens our minds toward God's Word, especially toward the vital inner meaning flowing inside of the more obvious literal sense; and finally, it is love (instead of truth) that empowers us to fight against the many vicious attacks from the hells that want us to turn and move their way, away from what is good and true.

I have had a second and third ' word of knowledge' told to me by church elder by beloved Jesus to tell me at the local Healing Rooms. Praise Jesus! By Julie Ralphs

An article by Smith Wigglesworth..
"To another the word of knowledge, by the same Spirit; to another faith, by the same Spirit” (1 Cor. 12:8, 9).
We have not passed this way hitherto. I believe that Satan has many devices and that they are worse today than ever before; but I also believe that there is to be a full manifestation on the earth of the power and glory of God to defeat every device of Satan.

How important it is that we shall have the manifestation of “the word of knowledge” in our midst. It is the same Spirit who brings forth the word of wisdom that brings forth the word of knowledge. The revelation of the mysteries of God comes by the Spirit, and we must have a supernatural word of knowledge in order to convey to others the things which the Spirit of God has revealed. The Spirit of God reveals Christ in all His wonderful fullness, and He shows Him to us from the beginning to the end of the Scriptures. It is the Scriptures that make us wise unto salvation, that open to us the depths of the kingdom of heaven, which reveal all the divine mind to us.
There are thousands of people who read and study the Word of God. But it is not quickened to them. The Bible is a dead letter except by the Spirit. The Word of God can never be vital and powerful in us except by the Spirit. The words that Christ spoke were not just dead words but they were spirit and life. And so it is the thought of God that a living word, a word of truth, the word of God, a supernatural word of knowledge, shall come forth from us through the power of the Spirit of God. It is the Holy Ghost who will bring forth utterances from our lips and a divine revelation of all the mind of God

With the gifts of the Spirit should come the fruit of the Spirit. With wisdom we should have love, with knowledge we should have joy, and with the third gift, faith, we should have the fruit of peace. Faith is always accompanied by peace. Faith always rests. Faith laughs at impossibilities. Salvation is by faith, through grace, and it is the gift of God. We are kept by the power of God through faith. God gives faith and nothing can take it away. By faith we have power to enter into the wonderful things of God. There are three positions of faith; saving faith, which is the gift of God; the faith of the Lord Jesus; and the gift of faith. You will remember the word of the Lord Jesus Christ given to Paul, to which he refers in the 26th of Acts, where the Lord commissioned him to go to the Gentiles, “to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness unto light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them `’WHICH ARE SANCTIFIED BY FAITH THAT IS IN. ME.”
Oh, this wonderful faith of the Lord Jesus. Your faith comes to an end. How many times I have been to the place where I have had to tell the Lord, “I have used all the faith I have,” and then He has placed His own faith within me.
One of our workers said to me at Christmas time, “Wigglesworth, I never was so near the end of my purse in my life.” I replied, “Thank God, you are just at the opening of God’s treasures.” It is when we are at the end of our own, that we can enter into the riches of God’s resources. It is when we possess nothing, that we can possess all things.
The Lord will always meet you when you are on the line of living faith. I was in Ireland at one time and went to a house and said to the lady who came to the door, “Is Brother Wallace here?” She replied, “Oh, he has gone to Bangor, but God has sent you here for me. I need you. Come in.” She told me her husband was a deacon of the Presbyterian Church. She had herself received the Baptism while she was a member of the Presbyterian Church, but they did not accept it as from God. The people of the church said to her husband, “This thing cannot go on. We don’t want you to be deacon any longer, and your wife is not wanted in the church.” The man was very enraged and he became incensed against his wife. It seemed as though an evil spirit possessed him, and the home that had once been peaceful became very terrible: At last he left home and left no money behind him, and the woman asked me what should she do.
We went to prayer and before we had prayed five minutes the woman was mightily filled with the Holy Ghost. I said to her, “Sit down and let me talk to you. Are you often in the Spirit like this?” She said. “Yes, and what could I do without the Holy Ghost now?” I said to her, “The situation is yours. The Word of God says that you have power to sanctify your husband. Dare to believe the Word of God. Now the first thing we must do is to pray that your husband come back tonight.” She said, “I know he won’t.” I said, “If we agree together, it is done.” She said, “I will agree.” I said to her, “When he comes home show him all possible love, lavish everything upon him. If he won’t hear what you have to say, let him go to bed. The situation is yours. Get down before God and claim him for the Lord. Get into the glory just as you have got in today, and as the Spirit of God prays through you, you will find that God will grant all the desires of your heart.”
A month later I saw this sister at a convention. She told how her husband came home that night and that he went to bed, but she prayed right through to victory and then laid her hands upon him. The moment she laid hands upon him he cried out for mercy. The Lord saved him and baptized him in the Holy Spirit. The power of God is beyond all our conception. The trouble is that we do not have the power of God in a full manifestation because of our finite thoughts, but as we go on and let God have His way, there is no limit to what our limitless God will do in response to a limitless faith. But you will never get anywhere except you are in constant pursuit of all the power of God.
One day when I came home from our open-air meeting at eleven o’clock I found that my wife was out. I asked, “Where is she?” I was told that she was down at Mitchell’s. I had seen Mitchell that day and knew that he was at the point of death. I knew that it was impossible for him to survive the day unless the Lord undertook.
There are many who let down in sickness and do not take hold of the life of the Lord Jesus Christ that is provided for them. I was taken to see a woman who was dying and said to her, “How are things with you?” She answered, “I have faith, I believe.” I said, “You know that you have not faith, you know that you are dying. It is not faith that you have, it is language.” There is a difference between language and faith. I saw that she was in the hands of the devil. There was no possibility of life until he was removed from the premises. I hate the devil, and I laid hold of the woman and shouted, “Come out, you devil of death. I command you to come out in the name of Jesus.” In one minute she stood on her feet in victory.
But to return to the case of Brother Mitchell, I hurried down to the house, and as I got near I heard terrible screams. I knew that something had happened. I passed Mrs. Mitchell on the staircase and asked, “What is up?” She replied, “He is gone! He is gone!” I just passed her and went into the room, and immediately I saw that Mitchell had gone. I could not understand it, but I began to pray. My wife was always afraid that I would go too far, and she laid hold of ma and said, “Don’t, Dad! Don’t you see that he is dead?” I continued to pray and my wife continued to cry out to me, “Don’t, Dad. Don’t you see that he is dead?” But I continued praying. I got as far as I could with my own faith, and then God laid hold of me. Oh, it was such a laying hold that I could believe for anything. The faith of the Lord Jesus laid hold of me and a solid peace came into my heart. I shouted, “He lives! He lives! He lives!” And he is living today. There is a difference between our faith and the faith of the Lord Jesus. The faith of the Lord Jesus is needed. We must change faith from time to time. Your faith may get to a place where it wavers. The faith of Christ never wavers. When you have that faith the thing is finished. When you have that faith you will never look at things as they are, you will see the things of nature give way to the things of the Spirit, you will see the temporal swallowed up in the eternal.
I was at a camp meeting in Cazadero, California, several years ago, and a remarkable thing happened. A man came there who was stone deaf. I prayed for him and I knew that God had healed hint. Then came the test. He would always move his chair up to the platform, and every time I got up to speak he would get up as close as he could and strain his ears to catch what I had to say. The devil said, “It isn’t done.” I declared, “It is done.” This went on for three weeks and then the manifestation came and he could hear distinctly sixty yards away. When his ears were opened he thought it was so great that he had to stop the meeting and tell everybody about it. I met him in Oakland recently and he was hearing perfectly. As we remain steadfast and unmovable on the ground of faith, we shall see what we believe for in perfect manifestation.
People say to me, “Have you not the gift of faith?” I say that it is an important gift, but what is still more important is for us every moment to be making an advancement in God. Looking at the Word of God today I find that its realities are greater to me today than they were yesterday. It is the most sublime, joyful truth that God brings an enlargement. Always an enlargement. There is nothing dead, dry or barren in this life of the Spirit; God is always moving us on to something higher, and as we move on in the Spirit our faith will always rise to the occasion as different circumstances arise.
This is how the gift of faith is manifested. You see an object and you know that your own faith is nothing in the case. The other day I was in San Francisco. I sat on a car and saw a boy in great agony on the street. I said, “Let me get out.” I rushed to where the boy was. He was in agony through cramp of the stomach. I put my hands on his stomach in the name of Jesus. The boy jumped, and stared at me with astonishment. He found himself instantly free. The gift of faith dared in the face of everything. It is as we are in the Spirit that the Spirit of God will operate this gift anywhere and at any time.
When the Spirit of God is operating this gift within a man, He causes him to know what God is going to do. When the man with the withered hand was in the synagogue, Jesus got all the people to look to see what would happen. The gift of faith always knows the results. He said to the man, “Stretch forth thine hand.” His word had creative force. He was not living on the line of speculation. He spoke and something happened. He spake at the beginning and the world came into being. He speaks today and these things have to come to pass. He is the Son of God and came to bring us into sonship. He was the firstfruit of the resurrection and He calls us to be firstfruits, to be the same kind of fruit like to Himself.
There is an important point here. You cannot have the gifts by mere human desire. The Spirit of God distributes them severally as He will. God cannot trust some with the gift, but some who have a lowly, broken, contrite heart He can trust. One day I was in a meeting where there were a lot of doctors and eminent men, and many ministers. It was at a convention, and the power of God fell on the meeting. One humble little girl that waited at table opened her being to the Lord and was immediately filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak in tongues. All these ‘big men stretched their necks and looked up to see what was happening and were saying, “Who is it?” Then they learned it was “the servant!” Nobody received but “the servant!” These things are hidden and kept back from the wise and prudent, but the little children, the lowly ones, are the ones that receive. We cannot have faith if we have honor one of another. A man who is going on with God won’t accept honor from his fellow beings. God honors the man of a broken, contrite spirit. How shall I get there? So many people want to do great things, and to be seen doing them, but the one that God will use is the one that is willing to be hidden. My Lord Jesus never said He could do things, but He did them. When that funeral procession was coming up from Nain with the widow’s son carried upon the bier, He made them lay it down. He spoke the word, “Arise!” and gave the son back to the widow. He had compassion for her. And you and I will never do anything except on the line of compassion. We shall never be able to remove the cancer until we are immersed so deeply into the power of the Holy Ghost, that the compassion of Christ is moving through us.
I find that, in all my Lord did, He said that He did not do it, but that another in Him did the work. What a holy submission! He was just an instrument for the glory of God. Have we reached a place where we dare to be trusted with the gift? I see in 1 Corinthians 13 that if I have faith to remove mountains and have not charity, all is a failure. When my love is so deepened in God that I only move for the glory of God, that I only seek the glory of God, then the gifts can be made manifest. God wants to be manifested, and to manifest His glory to humble spirits.
A faint heart can never have a gift. There are two things essential; first, love, and second, determination, a boldness of faith that will cause God to fulfill His word. When I was baptized I had a wonderful time and had utterance in the Spirit, but for some time afterwards I did not again speak in tongues. But one day as I was helping another, the Lord again gave me utterances in the Spirit. I was one day going down the road and speaking in tongues a long while. There were some gardeners doing their work, and they stuck their heads out to see what was going on. I said, “Lord, you have something new for me. You said that when a man speaks in tongues, he should ask for the interpretation. I ask for the interpretation, and I’ll stay right here till I get it.” And from that hour the Lord gave me interpretation.
At one time I was in Lincolnshire in England and came in touch with the old pastor of an Episcopalian Church. He became much interested and asked me into his library. I never heard anything sweeter than the prayer the old man uttered as he got down to pray. He began to pray, “Lord, make me holy. Lord, sanctify me.” I called out, “Wake up! Wake up now! Get up and sit in your chair.” He sat up and looked at me. I said to him, “I thought you were holy.” He answered, “Yes.” “Then what makes you ask God to do what He has done for you?” He began to laugh and then to speak in tongues. Let us move into the realm of faith, and live in the realm of faith, and let God have His way. " All by Smith Wigglesworth

The 9 Gifts Compared to the 9 Fruits

So many today seek the Gifts without first acquiring the Fruit in their life. We must have the Fruit of the Spirit at work, if we want God to entrust us with the Gifts of the Spirit.

Gifts of the Spirit
1 Corinthians 12
Fruits of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22-23
  1. Word of Wisdom
  2. Word of Knowledge
  3. Faith
  4. Healings
  5. Working of Miracles
  6. Prophecy
  7. Discerning of Spirits
  8. Different Kinds of Tongues
  9. Interpretation of Tongues
  1. Love
  2. Joy
  3. Peace
  4. Longsuffering
  5. Kindness
  6. Goodness
  7. Faithfulness
  8. Gentleness
  9. Self Control

  1. The Word of Wisdom supernaturally discloses the mind, purpose, and the way of God as applied to a specific situation. If we have the Wisdom of God, then we must have Love, for God is Love. If you search for the first gift of the Spirit, you must possess the first fruit of the Spirit.
  2. The Word of Knowledge is a supernatural revelation of information about a specific thing and has to do with an immediate need. Jesus gave instruction to His disciples so His Joy would remain in them and be full. A Word of Knowledge will always be received with Joy from His disciples, so we must first strive to have the fruit of Joy in our lives.
  3. Faith
  4. is a special outpouring of supernatural Faith for release of a miracle. Even a small amount of Faith in our Father will bring Peace into our lives. If we have the Peace that passes all understanding then we will be ready for the Gift of Faith when the need arises. So seek first to have the fruit of the Spirit: Peace.
  5. Healings
  6. are those Healings that God performs supernaturally. If we are Longsuffering, then we have learned to be content in any situation as Paul was. He learned that in his weakness, Jesus strength was made perfect. So if we can learn to be Longsuffering in all, then we will be able to accept the supernatural Healing God has for us. Faith produces miracles, but miracles do not necessarily produce faith, unless we know how to rejoice in any situation. That we do not look for the Healing, but for the relationship with God that will bring about the Healing.
  7. Working of Miracles
  8. is a manifestation of Divine power to perform something that could not be done naturally. Jesus performed many Miracles because He had compassion on the crowds and acted with Kindness. Without the Fruit of Kindness, we would not be able to use the Gift how God would want us to.
  9. Prophecy
  10. is a supernatural disclosure, a sudden Spirit inspired insight that brings exhortation to the body of Christ. Goodness means to have decency, generosity, righteousness. To exhort and edify the body of Christ we must first possess the virtues and values which are synonymous with Goodness.
  11. Discerning of Spirits
  12. is to detect the true spirit behind the acts and manifestations taking place around us. It is used to further build Faithfulness on our Lord and Savior. The fruit of Faithfulness is the foundation for being true only to our Lord, and the acts of the Holy Spirit. We may then seek the gift of Discerning of Spirits to further our perception of the workings of the true Spirit of God.
  13. Different kinds of Tongues
  14. is praying or singing in a supernatural or heavenly language which has a specific message associated with it. James tells us about the things from above, that they are pure, peaceful, and Gentle. How can we seek the Gift which will deliver a message to God’s people if we first do not seek fruit of His likeness.
  15. Interpretation of tongues
  16. is translating the message of tongues so that the heavenly message may be given. Would you trust someone translating for you that put their own thoughts and words into your message. You would want someone of great Self Control to be true and accurate. How much more would our Father want someone of Self Control to translate His holy message to His people.

"I believe that the Word of Knowledge is a thought, or impression on our mind or a vision or the direct audible voice of the Holy Spirit ABOUT a situation"
(Bill Subritzky in his book "Receiving The Gifts Of The Holy Spirit").

"This is the supernatural revelation of fact about a person or situation, which is not learned through the efforts of the natural mind, but is a fragment of knowledge freely given by God, disclosing the truth which the Spirit wishes to be made known concerning a particular person or situation"
(John Wimber, "Vineyard Fellowships,"U.S.A.).

In exercising the Gift of the Word of Knowledge we are passing on to others information from the Holy Spirit that He wants them to know at this time in their life. A natural illustration that might be helpful to your understanding is that of the postman. He is employed to deliver a message to pre-appointed people. His job is to take the message to the person whose name is on the envelope. It is not the postman’s message — that comes from the sender. The postman doesn’t have to know or understand the lifestyle of the person who the letter is addressed to. His job is simply to deliver the message (whether he understands it or not). If the postman gets careless or outside his realm of authority, then there is every possibility that the message will be delayed — or even delivered to the wrong person! (That breeds confusion).
Likewise in the Holy Spirit ministry. Our "employer" the Holy Spirit asks us to deliver a message to a certain person. It is not "our" message and the message is not for us. We are simply the delivery person. When we do just as the Holy Spirit asks us — no more and no less — then the message (the Word of Knowledge) will be delivered to the right person in the right place at the right time. Remember, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth (John 14:15-17; John 15:26; John 16:13-15).
It is when we try to interfere with that process that the Gifts of the Holy Spirit fall into disrepute. Once that happens repeatedly people will "switch-off" to the messenger and not receive any "words" from them in their hearts, even if they show otherwise outwardly at the time of reception
A GOOD DEVOTIONAL LIFE:
That is, building a personal relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit in prayer and the studying of the Word of God. It is through taking time to be with God that we learn to recognize His voice and when He is speaking to us. If we do not know His voice we will never be able to respond to Him or exercise the gifts.
A RIGHT RELATIONSHIP IN A DOCTRINALLY SOUND, SPIRIT-FILLED CHURCH:
The importance of being established into the life of a church cannot be overemphasized. If we want to be effective in the Word of Knowledge we must be "rooted into" a church home where our gifts can be exercised, developed and proven that they are indeed the Holy Spirit and not some human ego trip. It is vital that our gifts can be "judged" by the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 14:29; 1 Thessalonians 5:19-26).
A TEACHABLE SPIRIT:
In matters of the Holy Spirit Gifts there are many things to learn. If we do not have a humble, teachable spirit, then we are going to finish up in real trouble. I thank God for those who have spoken into my life, both to give correction and encouragement. The result of that is that I have grown in confidence and faith to exercise the Gifts of the Holy Spirit as I recognize His promptings. Some marvelous things have happened over the years!
If we are not teachable and we begin to develop "gifts" on a wrong understanding or in error, we will certainly self-destruct further down the track — the tragedy being that many lives can also be ruined in the process as well. Don’t be too proud to receive loving instruction!
A SENSITIVE SPIRIT:
The Gifts of the Holy Spirit are usually for exercising in a public manner. Therefore we need to cultivate a sensitive spirit towards God — and also towards the meeting or environment we are in. God is not a God of disorder or chaos and, if we are sensitive to Him, He will show us how to deliver a Word of Knowledge in a way that is beautiful. Sensitivity will also help give us the right timing and the right way to go about things.
A GENUINE LOVE FOR PEOPLE:
In 1 Corinthians 13 we are told that it is possible to develop great gifts of God in our life, yet still not love! We can separate our gifts, develop them to a tremendous degree, and still be impersonal and unloving towards people. The Bible says if we do that, then we are NOTHING! We have missed God somewhere, even though we can use His gifts. That is a great tragedy and, far too often, is the testimony of too many Christians over the years (John 13:34-35; John 15:7; 1 John 4:7-21).
It is love for God and people that teaches us the most about the exercising of Spiritual Gifts! The ministering vessel needs to know something of love and compassion. He is dealing with eternal souls, and the result of his Word of Knowledge can mean release or ruin for many years to come. It is not by chance that 1 Corinthians 13 is placed where it is — right in the middle of Chapters 12 and 14 which teach us about Spiritual Gifts.
A DESIRE TO BE USED:
No one will flow in the gifts if there is no desire to. God responds to desire (Psalm 37:4; Psalm 145:16-21; Psalm 21:2). "The desire of the righteous shall be granted" (Proverbs 10:24). Paul desired to impart Spiritual Gifts into the saints: "For I long ("to desire earnestly") to see you, that I may impart ("to give a share of") unto you some spiritual ("belonging to the Spirit, determined by, influenced by or proceeding from it" - Bullinger’s) gift, to the end you may be established ("set fast, fixed firmly") (Romans 1:11, KJV).
The Apostle also exhorted us to:
" . . . covet
("be zealous for") earnestly ("serious in mind or intention; demanding serious attention" - Collins) the best gifts" (1 Corinthians 12:31, KJV).
"Follow after love, and desire spiritual gifts . . . "
(1 Corinthians 14:1).
Cultivate Your Desire To Flow In Spiritual Gifts.
Pray for God to stir your spirit over these matters.
Don‘t be Afraid to Ask!
It is always good to learn from others. When someone is functioning in a lovely way in the gifts, don’t be afraid to approach them later to learn more.
MANY VARIATIONS ON USING THE GIFTS:

There is only one Holy Spirit, but there are many different ways the Word of Knowledge can operate. God uses our personalities and, as they are all different, there can be quite a variety of ways the gift can function. Don’t be afraid of this.
"Now there are distinctive varieties and distributions of endowments [extraordinary powers distinguishing certain Christians, due to the power of divine grace operating in their souls by the Holy Spirit] and they vary, but the (Holy) Spirit remains the same.
And there are distinctive varieties of service and ministration, but it is the same Lord [Who is served].
And there are distinctive varieties of operation — of working to accomplish things — but it is the same God Who inspires and energizes them all in all"
(1 Corinthians 12:4-6, AMP).
EXPERIENCE:

I will become aware that a certain person will be in the meeting; the Holy Spirit will show me something of that person’s need or what I am to minister to them. This method has often been tested, as many times when I get to the meeting the person concerned is not there! But they eventually turn up — late! — and once again the Holy Spirit shows He knows what He is doing. Truth prevails!

In 2003, i was admitted to hospital with the life threatening ketoacidosis. I had no diabetes before this , but the medication i was taking gave me type 1 diabetes as a side effect, after taking it for 6 months. In hospital, my bgl blood sugar reading was 35 and 50, the highest blood sugar reading in years. The average bgl blood sugar is between 3.5 - 8.0 bgl....20 bgl blood sugar reading is coma level........

God told me that i would have no diabetes after 3 mths. The doctors stopped my medication and after 3 months i was healed of drug induced type 1 diabetes and blindness. I came off a very high doseage of insulin. Thanks a bunch of roses for my faith and the loving prayers of Amber Rose and the church. The Specialist at the hospital said i would have diabetes for the rest of my life. A miracle to Jesus....Praise the Lord for this miraculous healing........Here, is some medical evidence of my remission of type 1 diabetes and healing by beloved Jesus. Dear Lord, help me spread your fragrance, wherever, i may go!

A second miracle healing. Praise Jesus. I had no diabetes again for 2 years, then another medication gave me type 2 diabetes a second time.. I am currently type 2 drug induced diabetic.....

The Holy Spirit is most eloquent.  The word ' tendrils' are just like roots that are firmly fixed to the earth by their tendrils. O Tendril whose Bud shall not wilt! ..It is very beautiful language that my beloved Father Jesus used to tell the lady for me. Often the fruit of thy womb Jesus is used with reference to Mother Mary in the Rosary.

In the book of John, "The Vine and the Branches" discourse, the Father is the Gardener or Vinedresser, and he prunes fruit-bearing branches, in order to make them MORE fruitful.

I have had a second and third and fourth 'word of knowledge' told to me by church elder by beloved Jesus to tell me at the local Healing Rooms. Praise Jesus!  By Julie Ralphs
